Partnership

For most of its services, Azores Freediving works in partnership with Haliotis diving centers on the islands of Santa Maria, Faial, Madeira and Sao Vicente.

The customer or third party/agency contracts with Haliotis, who pays Azores Freediving, its service provider for freediving.

Azores Freediving can contract directly with its customers for services that do not involve Haliotis.

Freediving Classes & Excursions – Diving Stays

Payment/Cancellation by client or third party/agencies:

  • Freediving and diving activities are confirmed upon receipt of a deposit of 30% of the total amount of the reservation, provided this is received within 72 hours of written confirmation of the reservation by the customer. This deposit is to be paid by bank transfer to the dedicated bank account.
  • For diving stays, the balance of the booking must be paid no later than 30 days before the start of the stay. For freediving stays, the balance of the booking can be paid on site at check-out, in cash or by credit card.
  • Extras (equipment rental, special sites such as Ambrosio) must be paid locally at check-out.
  • In the event of cancellation by the customer 30 days or more before the start of the stay: The deposit is refunded.
  • In the event of cancellation by the customer less than 7 days before the start of the stay: The deposit is retained.
  • In the event of cancellation by the customer less than 72 hours before the start of the stay: The full amount of the reservation is due.
  • In the event of no-show at the freediving/diving center on the 1st day of the stay: The full amount of the reservation is due.
  • Reservations including accommodation are non-refundable if cancelled less than 15 days before the start of the stay.
  • After a freediving or diving activity, a partial or total refund may be granted by Azores Freediving / Haliotis if and only if its responsibility is engaged. Personal reasons such as cold, seasickness or tiredness are not valid reasons.
  • Azores Freediving / Haliotis may cancel a freediving or diving trip in case of force majeure, such as dangerous ocean conditions or other safety-related events. When possible, an alternative will be offered. Should this not be possible, a credit note equivalent to the service not provided will be issued, provided that the service has already been paid by the customer.
  • In the case of group bookings or during the high season, these conditions may change and will be presented at the time of booking. In particular, in the case of group bookings involving 6 rooms or more, the total amount of the booking must be paid 2 months before the start of the stay, and the accommodation part is non-refundable.
  • We strongly recommend that our customers take out travel or cancellation insurance.

Themed Stays

Payment/Cancellation by client or third party/agencies:

  • The reservation of a stay is confirmed by the payment of a deposit of 30% of the total amount of the stay within 72 hours of written confirmation of the reservation by the customer. This deposit is to be paid by bank transfer to the dedicated bank account.
  • The balance of the booking must be paid no later than 60 days before the start of the stay.
  • Extras (equipment rental, special sites, etc.) must be paid on site at check-out.
  • In the event of cancellation by the customer 60 days or more before the start of the stay: The deposit is retained.
  • In the event of cancellation by the customer less than 60 days before the start of the stay : The full amount of the reservation is retained.
  • In the case of a group booking, the number of places reserved is definitive and in the event of cancellation, the group has to pay for all places reserved.
  • After a freediving activity, a partial or total refund may be granted by Azores Freediving / Haliotis if and only if its responsibility is engaged. Personal reasons such as cold, seasickness, tiredness are not valid reasons.
  • Azores Freediving reserves the right to cancel a stay 60 days before the start date if the number of bookings is insufficient. In this case, amounts paid will be totally refunded.
  • In case of force majeure, Azores Freediving may cancel a trip or the whole stay at any time. Azores Freediving will issue a credit note or a refund for the freediving service not provided.
  • We strongly recommend that our customers take out travel or cancellation insurance.

Loss / damage to equipment

In case of loss or damage to equipment belonging to Azores Freediving or Haliotis for which the customer is responsible (diving lamp, weights, weight belt, snorkel, etc.), the customer will be liable for the purchase price of the lost/damaged item.

In the case of Freediving & Sailing trips, any damage to equipment belonging to the sailboat for which the customer is responsible will be charged to the customer, up to the limit of the security deposit stipulated in the contract with the Charter company.

We strongly recommend that our customers take out third-party insurance for use abroad.
